The First Design Phase of the New Mott Children’s Hospital is Nearing
Completion: Families Are Leading the Way
Drawings for the general layout of our Holden NICU, along with other parts of
the new children’s hospital have been completed. Families have been included
along the way, contributing in focus groups, design committees and even meetings
with the architects. The Holden NICU will have 47 single rooms, sleep-space for
the families at the bedside, a small refrigerator in each room, a family
lounge/kitchen area, where there will also be offices of Social Work, Unit Hosts
and the Family Coordinator. More detailed information will become available in
